Xplode

For Kultlab and Fusion Festival, we created the Xplode installation this year. In the Beukenbos, five of our six Xplode poles were set up. An Xplode is a 6-meter tall pole with a mechanism inside that has 16 panels attached. It is moved in and out by pneumatic cylinders. We lay an underground compressed air network for this purpose. Each panel has 20 steel squares welded irregularly. Therefore, every panel is different. They are illuminated from the inside by pixel led strips. Each pole has an integrated smoke fluid reservoir and a 2.6kW Viper attached. In the center of the poles, there are 2x 1 kW halogen bulbs.
